Dissertation: Understanding Evangelion

My third year dissertation, Understanding Evangelion: Drawing Meaning From a Deliberately Open Work, explores how French philosopher Gilles Deleuze’s concept of the Rhizome can be used in film studies. By analysing Hideaki Anno’s Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion, I explicate the ways in which the film relates to its context: socially, politically and in terms of genre.
